Based on the road toad, I posted it in the tech section but now I've done some more this is probably a better spot. I'm not sure on the Jerry can holders but extra fuel is always ahndy when touring.

I like it!

Does the roof have some pitch to it? It's hard to tell from that angle.
Do you have a side view that show the roof line more clearly.

Hey Steve,

That looks like a nice off-road trailer you have designed. It has nice lines that are going to look good behind an off-road tow vehicle. I look forward to seeing the build pictures, and of course, the final trailer.

The front is 2" lower and slopes up to the line behind the vent, here's an early pic of the profile. It hasn't changed since this.

Funny you should say that, a question on water crossings was one of my first posts on the forum a few months ago. That snorkel gets used too. I've had water come in over the edge of the drivers window (wound down of course), but only once, you dont do it a second time if you can help it :)

Some changes, I didn't like the Jerry cans on the side so have added a tongue box. I was planning on having it divided into 3 sections with the centre section sealed from the other two and accessible from inside the camper. Would the outer two sections need to be vented if they were carrying Jerry cans? I 'd rather not as then I could alternatley use them for other items and not have to worry about them getting wet.

Anyway the latest pics. The guards are now square so I can put a beer on them or use them as a small table. A spare is slung underneath at the rear to offset the jerry can weight and the hatch is more realistic now with correct mounting and pivot points and tail lights as well.

Steve...nicely drawn out...I bet there is a regulation somewhere that sez you must vent a box used for carrying flamable liquids...look forward to seeing it built and USED!!!!!!

If you check our requirements You will find that all flammable liquids must be carried outside the trailer. This is why the major manufacturers have their jerrycan holders mounted outside the trailer. Sorry to put the kybosh on your idea for carrying the fuel in a box. Even venting does not allow for gasoline to be enclosed.

Doh, thought as much, I really just wanted to get dual usage from the space but there goes that idea. I dont carry Jerry cans often, mainly up at Fraser where it's almost $2 a litre on the Island :(

Looks like I'll have to rethink.
