Hello;
I am adding a teardrop to my list of home construction projects and would appreciate suggestions from the forum.
My goals are light weight (800 lb?). Queen bed. Simple galley. Battery and shore electric. Air conditioning. Economy.
Basic size 5' wide, 4' tall. 9' long.
I am planning to weld up a trailer and use a torsion axle. the trailer will have a 2X2 1/8 tube perimeter and 2x2 angle braces.
Walls floor and roof will be sandwich of 1/4" ply 3/4" x 2" poplar frame with 3/4" x 1/4" stringers to stiffen the torsion box, foam filled for insulation.
Dropped floor for storage and seating. The table will slide out from underneath the rear cabinet.
The long fenders will provide storage, a battery box and electrical connections.

What should I be considering?

:applause: :thumbsup: Looks like a great design to me. Remember the 1/8 for the inside. ;) And the roof.

Not bad for being a member here just a little over two months. :R

That's not etched in stone yet, is it. I didn't think so. I've been here for going on 3 years, and my design still isn't etched in stone! :lol:

Those work great if all you want to build was stairs. That's all I was ever able to draw :lol:

Oh yeah the other side of the sandwich. I'd use 1/8 if it were enough. Nothing about the design is fixed except relatively light weight. Cabinetry remains a blank. Fortunately I have the aesthetic sensibilities of a warthog and don't need to worry about looks.
