We used to do something similar when I installed stereo. You would put this plastic sheet in a wooden frame, clamping it on all sides. Then it was heated with a heat gun. After it got pliable, it drawn over a form carved out of wood and pshed into the creveces with wooden blocks. Then it was cooled it with wet paper towels.

You may be able to do it with thin plex drawn over a salad bowl.

Just a thought.

bubbles

Postby tjdale » Tue Feb 08, 2005 12:17 pm

Check out this site for making plexiglass bubbles. These are usually used for fairings on recumbent bikes, but the technique will work well for you. I have seen some of these for sale on various recumbent sites and you might be able to get one of the guys from one of these sites to make a couple for you.

waywardson fishtail windows

Postby es009d7705 » Fri Jan 23, 2009 12:03 pm

esoo9d77o5.aka evtherev, why not use old washing machine doors? the glass is preformed and all you have do is make a couple of round frames out of ply and seal with silly cone or some other waterproof sealing agent. A piece of 1 inch ply, router out the check for the glass and chamfer the edges and wahla fish eyes, thats what I intend to use once I get two matching windows(doors). there must be some kind of washing machine graveyard near you run by some junk guy or your local council, good hunting, Evan.

Evan,

George/waywardson, to whom you responded hasn't been on the forum since June 2006.

Nice idea for round non-opening windows though

Or, to expand on an idea, how about commercial clothes dryer doors for trailer doors. comes with hinges and a gasket  8)

still alive

Postby waywardson » Sun Jan 25, 2009 1:00 pm

Hello Steve & Others,
I am sorry to say,
I have never found the time
to complete the fish trailer,
Its still tarp covered in my back yard,
Last winters off time was spent remodeling my houseboat,
I spend spring, summer & fall on the water,
No off time this winter so far,
It depresses me that its still yet unfinished,
I really hate it,
George / Waywardson

I forgot to say thanks to Evan,
