My "Coleman" trailer design idea...

I have been toying with the idea of building another trailer. I was think of maybe going a littke bigger than a teardrop. Dare I say in, maybe even a standy.... I am not sure how big yet. Maybe 5' wide X 5' high X 10' long or up to the size of an Airstream "Bambi". The galley would be in the back with a awning above it. I have even thought of buying a cargo trailer & converting it.

The concept was to build a trailer that looks like a large Coleman cooler on wheels.

I like it! I'm building a Weekender that is 56 inches high (measured from the ground). I'm 76 inches high. :D

That's very cool. Will you put big handles on each end?
I like it!

Make the lid open too and you'll have a great skylight. :) I like it.

Cool idea Rainjer!!! You could make a faux latch on the side and hide the porch light under it. Now what to do with the drain plug... Doug

I would most likely just paint the "hardware" on.

Just thing about the size of the bottle you would be able to open with the bottle opener behind the handles...

I have had this design swimming around in my head for about a year. I finally decided to put it down on paper.

I like it, Jeremy!

And I, too, say "Go for it!" If it were me, though, I think I'd have to skin it/paint it to look like stainless steel and spray black Linex® 'round the bottom and call it the Coleman Classic version ... ...

CHEERS!

About 2" pvc for the handles and the drain could be cool air intake vent as well as shore power inlet. The ribbed unvented vinyl soffit material would provide the white plastic bottom treatment.

I don't know how I missed this when it was first posted, but since the thread has been revived...

No need to fake the lid - actually hinge it! Imagine the hinged top of a typical Westfalia camperized VW bus, hinged at one end to add standing room at the front and a loft towards the rear... now turn the idea 90 degrees so the hinge is along the driver's side like a cooler. Functionality and novelty!
