Well I have started building my teardrop. I am basing my profile on Joanne's Desert Dawg but 4x8 in size. It seemed like a nice and easy build, no curves to worry about. Since I know everyone likes pictures, here they are.

Good for you!
I like your steam-boat(?) theme. It's clever!
Keep up the good work!

moven along is the trailer wired fur the car ? best time to do it is befure you attach the floor. just make sue you can maintain it at any time in your travels.
will you insolate the floor, tell us about the roof vent system.

Soorer or later one of us crazies is gona ask "where does the paddle wheel go, but it would be cool if it could be used as one as well

all in all good job

Ron D.

Dean's build is not supposed to be a steam boat, but rather steampunk. It's a genre within sci-fi/fantasy/speculative fiction that re-imagines modern items created with victorian-era technology.

Being a sci-fi geek myself, I can't wait to see the results!

Steam Punk is way cool. The whole retro-scifi thing offers a lot of design possibilities.

I'm glad that you found my design a useful starting point! I'll be interested to see how your build progresses!

Day 2

Profiles cut out of luan, I did all four at one along with the windows.
Image

Door cut out of the driver side.
Image

Frame built out of 1x2 and 12 volt wires ran.
Image

Inside wall glued into place and switch panel cut out. I forgot to take a picture of the insulation, but that is boring.

The style I am going for is a steampunk/Victorian SciFi style. The two vent pipes are going to have fans installed to help cycle the air and have a cone cover to keep out the rain. This should make it look like furnace pipes. I plan on having a battery installed to keep it isolated from my car for the 12volts along with an inverter for any minor power I might need. I don't plan on doing extended trip, just weekends.

Well that is all for today, most likely I will have no more time to build until next Sunday.

Thanks for the comments so far.

Wow! You don't mess around!
I think it took me 4 months to get as far as you are.
Nice work.

I bit too big for my small space. I do plan on putting a spinner door handle which if things work out will be how the door opens and stays closed. Otherwise it will just be decoration.
