Vintage Clone

Postby shopfabricator » Thu Dec 11, 2008 3:10 pm

Time to start sharing build #2. I have enough done now with pictures in my album that I will be able to explain what I have in mind for this one.
I wanted something a little bigger than the PUFFIN Clone I just sold.
This one will be just under 10' long, but will still fit in the garage and be a Standy. It will have a Full Size Bed in the rear, this time it will not convert to a dinette. In Front will be a 24" Dinette for two that converts to a kid size Single Bed. In the middle will be a Fridge, Grill, Sink, A/C, and Heater. All appliances and Lights are Electric 110v Only. No Batteries, No Propane. This is truly a Camp Ground Queen. It will require full "Shore Power Support". More Surprises to come.

Another good day to be in the shop. :)
It hasn't stop drizzling all day. Just enough rain that I can't get the trailer out for pictures.
Most of the rough-ins are done! Need to go ahead and close in the lower front and epoxy seal the A/C compartment. Also need to frame the door... guess I should build a door too. Anyway, more pics are in the album!

Milestone! All Interior Construction is Done! :D
If it would just quit raining I could get it out of the garage and clean. It is a huge wreck with all the scrap (read small pieces for next build) and sawdust Everywhere.
Ready to start sanding, sanding, sanding, stain and poly. Still need to build the door.
Picked up plumbing and electrical supplies today, so I'm ready for that as soon as interior finish is done.... Then the Exterior!

That's looking good. I'm going to follow this build closely.

Is that a heater in the pic with the dog?

What prices would you be talking about? :o
The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...

Steve- Yep  Its a little 110v forced air heater from the Big Blue Store. It has three jumpers in the wiring compartment to select wattage. 375, 750, 1125, and 1500. I'm pretty sure I can get by with one of the lower wattage's. Testing will tell.

Mike- Been to the Big Blue Store lately? I collect reprints of old "Building Plans" books, and they all have this disclaimer on the title page!

:?  All Fun and I AM Unemployed. I go by race shops all the time (when I have parts to pick up for the trailer) and still no-one hiring. Looks like I will give up on racing. Now where's my Tape Measure?

Just got back from ANOTHER parts run. Should have everything but the exterior finish now.

Anyway, I stop by a friends race shop and he said they laid off three more last week. When they applied for unemployment they were told that there are so many out of work racers that they need to take career re-training courses to maintain benefits.
THANKS NASCAR :x How are those new car rules working now!

Yeah, we can retrain everyone for "high tech" jobs. Oh wait, we outsourced all of those jobs to India. Guess we all need to go back to subsistence farming. Sometimes it feels like we are on a super-highway to becoming a third world nation.
