So I'm not the first to come up with this idea but I just drew this up today. Framing the top bit is going to be, um, interesting. Maybe some aluminum stock covered over in bender board? No idea, who cares. Just getting a little crazy with design ideas to see what might happen. Inspired partially by the submarine in 20,000 Leagues. I imagine that the hatch would open via a crank and a few gears rather than the more traditional hand-lifting method. Run some random copper tubing around bits here and there, stick a large gear or sawblade in the wheel well. Some small cast iron bling keeping in mind the weight, yada, yada.
