Standie w/ kitchen slideout

Hi all,

Last night I was reading through the forum and several ideas popped into my head and today I sketched them quickly and thought I would share them with you.

I read a lot about people wanting to make their standie fit in a garage.
I design this standie with 6 ft head room where the foot well is located.

I haven't seen many designs for four people and since I have two little girls I thought I could incorporate some kind of bunk beds.

I also like the idea of having an indoor kitchen for those of you that camp in cold weather, and in order to make it work in a 5x10 design a slideout kitchen will be needed to make more room inside.

I also like the slide because I haven't seen slideouts for kitchens.

Anyway, here are the two sketches I have.

Please feel free to share your comments or critiques.

Excuse the bad images, I will draft them in cad if you can't see them clear.

Interesting concept. I would think you would need drop down support brackets for the back of the trailer (bed in the back).

I agree, even one drop down leg coul be sufficient to prevent lifting of the trailer and to reduce weight.

I wonder if it could be designed as a foamie hybrid since you would need supports for the folding bunk beds and the slideout

Interesting idea.

Two things to think of. If you're planning to have 4 people in it, a second exit or emergency exit (Window/Hatch)
should be a must in any build, at least in my mind.

If you camping at a sight that is set up for RVs, the power and water hookups, they are usually on the back left side
of the camper.( street side or drivers side ) The picnic table and the eating area is usually on the curve or passenger
side of the camper, or at the back. Taking stuff out of your camper and walking all the way around to the other side
of the camper to cook and then taking the food back around over the trailer tongue, over and over again will get old.

I know this is just a first draft, Keep that pencil drawing.

I agree with the second emergency exit, a window or a roof vent would probably be the best idea.

The kitchen is an indoor kitchen only and is not accessed through the outside, so there is no need to go around the trailer
