Reliable ELECTRIC weedtrimmer Needed

Postby Todah Tear » Thu Jun 07, 2012 1:11 pm

Please recommend an ELECTRIC weedwacker/trimmer? I have tried Black N Decker and %!#%!WORX https://worxgt.buytvtools.com/?leadsource=PS183&s_kwcid=TC|6221|worx%20weed%20trimmer||S|b|11403707659&gclid=CI692IrevLACFQcrpAodGiyjoQ ( the one on TV)...both were junk.

Father's Day is coming up and it is the perfect time to buy a trimmer. I just need the name of one with known reliability.

Thanks,

Todah

Last year I bought a stihl fse60 electric trimmer and I really like it. It has a very good review and it's one of the
best ones out there. I gave $119.00 for it new.

Thanks Larry. I will check this trimmer out. I have located a local distributor.

I bought the Stihl electric trimmer and it performs super-great. Look out edges; you will be trimmed this summer! 8)

Todah, if you still have that WORX, don't throw it out! Call the company. They have a very good warranty and will stand behind their "worx". The company had contracted with another company to supply batteries and the batteries were a disaster. Problems abounded. I bought their lawnmower and had a terrible time with it, until they figured out that the problem was related to the battery product. My lawnmower was 18 months old when they finally said, "We're sending you a new lawnmower." and they did! Not only that; but also, the new lawnmower is better quality with more power than the old one.

I buy corded electric trimmers in bulk from a local weekly auction. Seems like every time I go looking, there they are. I figured that I'm the only person in the state that likes corded trimmers. But that translates to used and cheap. Last time I paid $7 for 5 of them. I got 3 that worked with no issues. And I sold one of those at a yard sale for $5. The Craftsman 14" trimmer is my personal favorite. Tons of power - sounds like an airplane winding up for take off.

I have never been a fan of the battery operated stuff. But then I only have about 1/2 acre to trim...
