I dare you to watch the Tour de France

Hi All,


Why would I watch the Tour De France ?. I ride to work every day by bike. I dodge Pennsylvania's famous pot holes,cars that pull out in front me, idiots that insist on yapping on cell phones at a bus stop standing in the bike lane. I have been clipped by car/truck mirrors,given the finger,yelled at,horns blown at me,swung at ,and I am IN THE BIKE LANE. Lets see Lance do that on his $15,000 carbon bike. I would love to see a real world,real traffic race ,say through any big city in the USA. The winner would be the one that lived! The Tour De France is a country tour{Boring}

Hey PA,
The first broken bones I ever had were from a guy that was parked.
He opened his car door, just as I was riding past.
Shattered one bone in my right middle finger and I knew it was bad because I saw stuff "spray" out when my riding gloved hand drilled his window post.
There are a few roads around here that I won't ride anymore... been brushed up against and clipped by side mirrors.
I've lost two cyclist friends to drunk drivers and another friend who I used to race with in the TUC is now a quad because of a drunk driver.
What gets me is the general public's perception of cyclists...
When I see a goof ball riding out in the middle of the road, I'll pull over ahead of him and try to flag him down to have a little pow-wow.

Good! I'm glad that I'm not the only one who still calls it the Firecracker 400.
