Still working on it. I've had trouble over the years with a "rattle can" finish drips, runs & sags. Decided to make something so there can be no runs! It's an anti-gravity machine for removing runs, crude but effective! I'm still looking for an old BBQ rotisserie drive motor, so I can get away from this manual anti-gravity device...

Such a cool project!

Another source of free gear motors for rotating fixtures is from the switch timer from and old washer or dryer. or the valve actuator from a water softener. I made a device for "slosh casting" in silicone molds to rotate the mold until the resin sets. I used a pulley, gear and a toothed belt scavenged from a large laser printer. I mounted the motor on an arm so I could detension the belt and turn the armature by hand if needed.

Postby noseoil » Sun Jul 10, 2022 9:02 am

Working on a seat now, a bit of plywood (3 pieces, bottom, profile & back), some 1 1/2" foam & a sure-form for shaping...

The seat bones look good, it even looks like it's going to be comfortable.

It's actually a lot like a saddle in shape & fit. Should be comfortable enough for short rides...

Now see it now that you point it out, it's been over 4 decades since I've sat in a saddle, but I do remember them being comfortable.
