Political FUN!

Postby Joseph » Fri Sep 15, 2006 12:50 pm

Folks, I'm really enjoying all the current discussions. In the words of Heinlein, "I never learned anything from a man who agreed with me." But now I've gotta hit the road for a few hours and spend the weekend with my daughter, so I may not be back to this forum until next week at the earliest.

I just don't want you to take any silence on my part as concession!

Agree or disagree, you guys are the best!

If you can explain to me what one is, I might become one.

I'm easy.

Daughter Zoƫ is off to the store, so I thought I'd check back in for a moment.

Stan wins - she's a Libertarian. I'd like to say that she convinced me of the error of my Republican ways, but the latest crop of Republicans did that.

I don't think that's likely, but I'll let the party explain who they are. I'm not a member of the party, BTW - I just tend to think like they do.
I'm easy.

I've heard that about you!

Later,

I don't have the debating skills the likes of what I have seen in the current political threads. Besides, that would be a hijack for sure. Let me just say that I don't want this country ruled by business, nor do I want to live in a welfare state. I believe that we must have government. It is a necessary evil. That government should be small and inobtrusive when it comes to a citizen's individual life. Freedom from over regulation is key.

The government has grown so much that it is trying to make decisions for me. I prefer not to wear a seat belt. I don't like jumping through hoops. I do like "Do unto others.....".

I'll continue to read and learn from the opinions expressed. I think you all have the right to your opinions and I won't argue with them. Now I'll shut up.
