Moose Returns from Punkin Chunkin

Postby BILLYL » Sat Nov 11, 2006 9:05 pm

Howdy All -

Got back from the 2006 Punkin Chuckin and take a look at the photos....

http://tinyurl.com/y47knp

We stayed at Trap Pond in Laurel Delaware. We highly recommend it to eveyone. One of the nicest state parks we stayed at. Very nice - canoeing and several trails. The Swamp Cedars were something to see.

And for the Chuckin this year - it was amazing........... What people will do to throw a 3 pound pumkin 4000 feet. Man and his machines........

The scouts that were with us all agreeded that one has to experience a Chuckin - at least once in your life.

Temps got done in the low 30F and the Moose kept us nice a warm. The scouts decided that they did not want tosleep in their tents so several of them built a nest out of pine needles and sleep real nice - dry and warm.

One of the best parts of the trip was crossing the Bay Bridge in Maryland. Two lanes wide and I had no problem crossing.

Hope you enjoy the photos and see you there next year!

It was great. I added some more pics to the file.

If you ever get a chance to get up to this area of the country - it is really a nice place to camp.

We can't wait to go back.

Looks like the real thing--fall camping! Congrats!

BTW:

In that photo with a bunch of you sitting around the fire, there are two cars in the background. Is that a Christmas tree you chopped down in the blue car???

Ira-

Nope- that's just some of the branches from the tree.

We go Christmas tree chopping in about 2 weeks.....................

Go back home - Moscow PA to the family friend's farm and get a tree. Big time - lots of cousins and lots of food/drink

That sounds GREAT. Never had a tree as a kid, but married to a Catholic, I enjoy it more than HER.

Except down here, we can't buy a tree more than 2, 3 weeks out or it will dry out to dust--and we usually get them from Home Depot.

Putting the true religious significance aside, Christmas in Florida is kind of an oxymoron.

Ken -

We heard about that "Misfire" last year one went into the crowd and landed at the feet of some poor soul. I can't imagine how long one would live if you got a direct hit. :? :? :?

Great weather - I really wouldn't want to be there if it rained - the parking lot would be one big mud pile.

See ya next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!
