Corell WordPerfect 10

I am stumped. Anyone know if you can make WordPerfect 10 do a word count. I need a word count on a short story and don't want to do it the hard way.

Word Perfect

At the top left hand side of the screen you will see an option on the menu bar marked ‘File’. Click on that and a drop down menu will appear. On that menu select ‘Properties’. You will then see a screen with two tabs. Select the tab marked ‘Information’.

Well at least I didn't post it for all to suffer through. Your valor is much appreciated kind sir. The contest rules say 3000. In my defense I had no way of knowing how many pages that was. May need a complete rewrite.

What exactly is considered a "WORD"? When I was In school, for essay purposes, a word was considered 5 letters including spaces..

Micro....I thought about the same thing...and I'll bet you also did book reports out of Classic Comics too!!!! I know I did, probably explains the crappy grades I got... I also would have been sunk without Cliffs Notes....Doug

Maybe I have too many spaces. I am trying to teach myself to tighten up a book so I decided to write a short story for a contest. I got it down to one subject, a handful of people and a quick ending. It is still twice as long as needed. Try Try again. Perhaps the contest is flawed. Maybe it is intended for men. I mean why use only 3000 words when 5000 will work.

There just isn't a whole lot to say to that without proving the point so I won't. Besides, I am used to the shoe in my mouth and have no intentions of trading for a bigger one.

Oh dear, I am sitting here trying to put two romantically inclined people from across the big pond together in less than 3000 words and you are breaking my sensitive heart. How am I ever going to get this out of the realm of Penn House and into true love if I think like that.

I have two dogs and a third if he doesn't quit messin my garage up.
