I bought a computer off of ebay without an operating system, then went to the auction for os's. I saw an auction ending in 2 minutes for xp home with sp2 and jumped on it (probably too quick) without reading the description carefully. Turns out I "won" an xp home upgrade with sp2
Now the question, can this serve as stand alone os or does it upgrade an older windows program and reqiures an underlying os to function?

The upgrade version is designed to upgrade a previous edition. With that said, if you have a valid install CD of Windows 98, ME, or 2000, then PM me I will tell you how to get around this.
