Next Project--Refinishing Wrought-Iron Birdcage

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Just called, and the guy said they normally send out "large stuff" for sand blasting. But I don't know if this cage counts as large.

There's not a lot of rust on this thing at all, so if I can prep it okay, can they powdercoat over an exisiting finish? Or do I really have to totally remove the finish per one or ALL of the methods mentioned above?

I'll bet you could find a powder coater in most industrial parks around you. Unless you frequent these places, you'd never know that they were there.

It may not be so expensive when you consider the durability of the coating and the lack of elbow grease on your part.

Best case, have the cage media blasted (glass beads, plastic media, walnut shells) then powder coated.
