Chevy 789?

Postby halfdome, Danny » Sat Apr 21, 2007 1:50 pm

Got this in my email today. They were talking about this in 2000. Is it just a rumor or a hoax? Chevy 789 Danny

It would be more desirable if they where 3 different cars.

Eddie, you got that right! Talk about a mish-mash of parts, the front looks OK and the back looks OK but when you realize that it's the same car, they don't look good together.

Combining design elements from different classic Chevrolet models, the
n2a 789 shows the world that you really can't have enough of a good thing.
The n2a 789 looks instantly iconic because it is a melding of 1957, 1958
and 1959 Chevys. Who says you can't have it all, time tested classic design
and up-to-date performance and reliability.

This vehicle is built on a 2005-2007 Corvette C6 chassis, virtually the same
chassis that won its class at the 24 hours of LeMans for the past few years
and is known in the car world as the best value in a performance chassis
ever produced.

Named for the three years represented in the overall design, the n2a 789
has the "hooded eyes" and chrome grille bar of a '57 Bel Air,
a mid-section and tri-toned interior that is reminiscent of a '58 Impala and
the "bird in flight" rear tailfins of a '59. These three vehicles are all
instantly recognizable classics celebrated by people around the world.

And here

The price of a turnkey n2a 789 is $135,000, well equipped with all Corvette standard equipment

Thanks for the links Steve. I too don't like the paint scheme and never was a fan of the 59 Chevy but it looks good from the front & side. For that much money you won't be seeing one in my driveway, besides Jane thinks it's ugly. ;) Danny

Wow, what a car!! I like it alot - just way out of the box. Looks like something Foose had a hand in designing. Okay, now everyone send me $25.00 each, I'll buy one, try it out and let you know what it's like for real.

yeah I like it , and I'm not even a chevy man....... but like you said the paint is wrong...... If it was White in place of the Black, It would look more like a 57, 58 , 59......... ;)
