Black Friday

Black Friday info I received today. Some may be interested.......

This is a Black Friday email alert to let you know that the 2007 version of BlackFriday.info has launched! This year we've got some really great new features that we're sure you are going to love.

New this year is our Black Friday shopping list. While browsing the Black Friday ads, you'll notice that each item has a button that allows you to add it to your personalized shopping list. This is a quick and easy way to keep track of the items that you are interested in purchasing on Black Friday. You can also share your shopping list with friends and family by sending them your personalized shopping list URL so that they have instant access to all the great Black Friday savings and they'll know what to buy you this holiday season. :)

Another feature we are highlighting this year is our daily product deals.
Every day we post deals for products that are deeply discounted and in some cases, better than the deals you find on Black Friday! Just like last year, we also have a full selection of online coupons that you can use to save even more money any time of the year.

Finally, this wouldn't be a Black Friday alert if we didn't have some Black Friday ads for you. So far, we have confirmed Black Friday ads for Ace Hardware and Harbor Freight and we also have a few of the Black Friday deals for Sears.

To view the new 2007 Black Friday site, go to:
http://www.blackfriday.info/

To view the Ace Hardware Black Friday ad, go to:
http://www.blackfriday.info/ads/acehard ... ay-ad.html

To view the Harbor Freight Black Friday ad, go to:
http://www.blackfriday.info/ads/harborf ... ay-ad.html

To view some of the Sears Black Friday deals, go to:
http://www.blackfriday.info/ads/sears-b ... ay-ad.html

We expect more Black Friday ads to be coming out very soon and we'll also be releasing a few more features to help make planning your holiday shopping even easier.

We call it Insanity Day around here. You have people getting to the stores at 4:30AM and each person in the party will "stake-out" an area with their list. Then when they uncover the sale items there is much shoving and occasional fist fighting and bad language all around. People that are normally the nicest people, become Conan the Barbarian. Rudeness abounds. After trying it once, I decided there is nothing I want or need that badly. So I stay home and sleep in. :D If the stores don't meet their sales goals that day, they have more sales, closer to Christmas .

Bill, black Friday is the sales day AFTER thanksgiving..it's when all the holiday sales kick in..it's called black Friday because if the sales are off, the season is kaput for the year...or so they say.

Never shop the day after Thanksgiving the real challenge is to wait till Christmas Eve and see how much of your shopping you can do at the local CVS

I'm living large this year:

I never go shopping the day off Xmas for ornaments and stuff, but LAST year we bought a $129 pre-lighted tree for $19.95.

Can't wait to open that sucker up.
Here we go again!

The term Black Friday isn't used in any negative sense...it's a good thing.
It refers to the accounting fact that most retail businessess run "in the red" for most of the year. The start of the holiday season is when they make most of their money and as a result they begin running "in the black"

I know you are right but it feels more like they mean it is the day the devil is turned loose. I dont shop on that day. I have friends that go from 5 am to midnight (and the group is getting larger!)

And I thought I was the only one. I used to go at 2am on x-mas eve morning (after being sent from a local watering hole) to shop-co. That time of day there are just a few other drunks to contend with. Good thing to know I quit doing that.

Oh Well! I haven't seen my schedule yet but I'm pretty sure I'll be on the clock by 4.30 am and welcoming the hoardes when the doors are opened at 5 am. Despite the madness of it --- it's a great day to work!

LOL...If Texas Hold-em can be considered a 'sport,' then IMO, shopping is an olympic level event, and if they gave out gold medals, well...

The trick to a successful Black Friday shopping experience is to skip the doorbuster ads (shop online during that time to get your fix) and go later in the day, after the first rush has exhausted itself and is sipping expensive coffees someplace. Then you can cash in on the deals that are available for the rest of the weekend, which the doorbuster people were too busy to pick up.

I made a killing on electronics one year, two days after a lightening strike took out my cordless phone, VCR, TV, and printer. I bought new of all of those, AND a new laptop, and walked out of Staples at about 3 in the afternoon...one hour and $1100 invested in the trip. Most days, I'd have been happy to get the new laptop for that. ;)

The last couple years, I've entered a three day dog show circuit in Massachusetts at the Big E that weekend. I get to bail on the family Thanksgiving dinner if it's held late, spend three days celebrating my birthday with my friends and showing my dogs, and if I absolutely positively have to get a Black Friday 'fix,' I go online or hit the West Springfield Big Lots, Walmart and other hot spots with my niece and nephew.

Oh no...the *real* challenge is finding the perfect gift in the AM/PM minimart/gas station when you stop for gas on your way to Christmas dinner.

My kid brother really LIKED that Byrne Dairy travel mug that I gave him the year he turned 21. Really. I stuffed it with peanut M&Ms...and then when he got to the bottom of the M&Ms, he found the sticker that entitled him to free coffee every morning between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. for a year if he brought that mug into any Byrne Dairy...made his morning commute into a beautiful coffee experience for a whole year, and it only cost me $3.

  You win
That reminds me of an episode of that 70's show when Red and Eric forgot Kiddy's Birthday and bought her a funnel and map at the gas station.
If you follow that show
