Thats a tough one.. except the wife put me to a short course in making handmade chains out of gold and silver sooooooo.

Here are a few of the items I have done myself. :? Can this be called building?

Depending on the length it can take up to 3 days to make, all Silver is stretched, wrapped and links are cut and made by hand as well. :D

I do this once in the while for orders also. Very time consuming. :) Also
the links need to be Silver soldered individually. :?

These photos were taken before they were placed into a polishing tumbler.

The Gold ones look real nice, especially the 1st style of Viking Chain.

Heikki, back when my job kept me out of town half or more of the time I made chain maile, both armor and decorative chains, to while away the motel time. Most of what I made was with 14 gauge galvanized steel or stainless steel. I have made chains like the first two pics you posted but have never even seen the third pattern. I'm impressed.

No, you are right, I have not had much time for the computer lately. I've relocated from the woods to the hills (still in Texas), a 250 mile move, still don't have everthing moved. Wired my new shop this week, got some use out of that Triton metal cutting saw on the conduit. Thanks for asking.
