Quick trailer sale

Postby Larwyn » Tue Jan 15, 2008 8:42 pm

Since Lanza and I have moved to Kerriville in a part of Texas known as The Hill Country, my 5th wheel trailer has been for sale. My half ton Silverado was fine as a tow vehicle while living east of here but I would never ask it to pull that 7000 pound trailer in this part of the country.

I had been holding the trailer for a "friend" for a few months. He has become impossible to contact and has not come forward by early January as he had said he would. The owner of the property it is sitting on wants it gone by mid Febuary.

So, Lanza decided it was time to list the trailer on Craig's List. I figured it would not hurt, probably wouldn't help much either. I had surrenderd to the fact that I would have to hire someone to tow the thing here, park it at the house and wait years for somone to buy it. Less than an hour after the listing showed up on Craig's List, I got a call, supposed to meet the buyer Thursday with cash money. Hope he shows because there have been two other callers who willl be calling again Thursday afternoon, so far.

Seems that Craig List thing works......

Sure does. I put a gas hot water heater on there one night, first call was within 15 minutes of listing it. Sold it to him, had lots of calls!!!

Craigslist Works

Craigslist works. I buy/sell stuff on Craigslist all the time. The "Free" section is worth watching. Found some nice tools on Craigslist, too.

w/ craigslist I learned to always tell people. "sure come look at it, but, understand its going to the first person with cash" That way when they take too long and others call with interest, I dont have to tell them someone is supposed to come look at it. I tell them also.... first person with cash takes it.
