As long as he doesn't swear AT them..... ;)

Funny... Just today I overheard two co-workers bad mouthing Tranes, but I gotta say, from what I've seen from these two... I wouldn't put much credance with that.
Our company uses Armstrongs mostly and the 94%er is our top of the line.

Jeff,
If your heat exchange is cracked or rotted out the furnace shouldn't even opperate.
BTW- I've been in the trade for a whole four months now... How's that for credance?

Well, I had no choice but to shell out $235 and replace the bad ignition control box while I shop for a new furnace and round up some scratch to pay for it. 8)

 I can't beleive that a company would limp that dangerous this along. I hope you have carbon monoxide detectors in your home. I would hate for you to wake up and find yourself in the obituaries.
No matter what you do, if that heat exchanger is cracked or rotted out, it is deadly. That is the only thing keeping the fumes from mixing with the air you breath.

yes that is very true about the heat exchanger, if it does make u sick it is on the company and thier insurance company to make it right with u. they sould have never ever ever in a million years put that back together if it is cracked. i would get a second opinion and see what they find out. and get some decectors also.
