I like Obama (he's on my short list), and voted for Kerry, and I got a chuckle out of this photo. We progressives have a sense of humor. Maybe it's because we have hearts.

I voted for Kerry as well - Rather Obama didn't get the nomination, but even if I did - I'd have gotten a kick out of the picture.

What really put it over the top for me was that Obama was clearly talking when the shot was taken - but it ends up looking just a little like a kissyface. Combined with the 'hug' and it's just TOO much to let go! (Course I also liked the guy in the audience (first row, just to the left of Obama) that looks pretty excited by what he's seeing.

Why any professional photographer and/or newsperson would use THAT photo (with it's rather obvious humor value) is really beyond me. I wouldn't have used that shot anymore than one that had a person standing in an unfortunate position in front of a sign with the word "association" on it. etc etc. It's slip-shod work.
