What's the story behind your forum name? Version 2

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

When i was married to a musician, we kinda fantasized about what our names would be if we became famous in the music world...slim chance for either of us, but, oh well. I like Van Morrison's Tupelo Honey so thought Tupelosue had a nice southern twang to it (my real name is Suellen, which gets me confused with JR's wife...i shot him, he needed shooting)

I'm born and raised in California, but must have some southern gal in me from the wood pile!! (and what exactly does that mean??)
A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour!

First off hi, :D

I like cartoons and all. Slade is from tekkaman and Zero comes from Gundam. I have been using the name since 96'.

Oh well, it has a nice ring.

Wife gave me my nickname to tease me, when she was looking for me she wold ask the kids "where's grumpy". Then one of my daughters friends called me grumpy one time and she told them "thats Mr. Grumpy to you" my wife broke into hysterics and it stuck

Now I just tell everyone Wife, 4 kids (3 girls 1 boy), 2 cats and 2 dogs, nuff said

You need to be at my house when a boy shows up looking to "hangout" with one of my daughters. :fb

Being 6'1'' and 300lbs has its advantages

Postby Roly Nelson » Wed Feb 20, 2008 1:58 am

Wow, such original forum names. Who would have thunk it? As for my name, my Dad"s father's name was Nels, and per the usual Swedish custom, when the son leaves home he adds a Strom, Quist or Son to the father's first name. Hense, Nel's-son, Nelson.

Now my first name is a different story. I was extremely overweight when I was a child. We lived near a long grass hill where my brother and I often played. He got a kick out of pushing me down the hill and laughed as I rolled and rolled. Because of him, from that day forward, I became Roly to all that knew me. Hence, Roly Nelson.

Now if you believe all of that, I have a bridge I would like to sell. (Naw, just kidding, Roly is short for "Roland" and I would have to wear a tie if I had that name.) The Nelson part explains my teardrop's name, since I spent 1/2 my time sketching it. Therefore it's the '1/2 Nelson', just like the wrestling choke hold.
Roly, (not Rolly or Rollie or Rolie or Roll-Lee) rhymes with Holy with an 'R') ;)

Don

I just would get out my "BIG Knife" and start sharpening it.
They always would ask what it was for. And I'd say "Boy this is my castrating knife".
My daughter would tell me her freinds are scared of me. I'd just say "GOOD".

Oh, and my name. Well I guess I'm just a madman that also is a carton printer. Thus , I'm Madprinter.
