Anybody have any thoughts on this? The web page doesn't really give any stats as to how much fuel you'd save, but it does look interesting....

The inefficiency of any method of splitting the water into Hydrogen and Oxygen means that you put more energy in than you get out. That energy comes from the burning of gas to create electricity.
Besides, burning Hydrogen in a standard internal combustion engine does all sort of nasty things to it because of the higher temperatures involved.
As Heinlein used to say TANSTAAFL. There aint no such thing as a free lunch.

My favorite is all the talk about HHO. It's possible they are trying to talk about something else (Like H2 and O2) - but chemically, HHO is just H2O - ie water. (After doing a little searching... OK, some folks apparently like to use this instead of "H2 + O2" - but it's not a legit term)

I also liked the line about "the ATOMIC power of hydrogen" At best it just burns folks! I doubt very much it's a fusion reactor - which would be required to release the "atomic power" of hydrogen.

On the other hand - the guy's torch idea isn't really all that bad. It'd suck juice like there was no tomorrow, but if you wanted to avoid having compressed gas around.

Such a hoax that they had to poison Stan Myers weeks before he was to start across country in his hydrogen powered vw dune buggy. Open your eyes people because when the last pretroleum reserves are gone this equipment will still need lubrication. If we can preserve the remaining reserves our kid and grand kids will still at least have lubrication for their transportation. Or maybe we can just perfect the transporter beam.

They do it very economically in Iceland, using geothermal steam to produce the electricity to make Hydrogen/Oxygen from water - The country is aiming to get energy self sufficient by running most vehicles on Hydrogen by 2050 . . . . and I think they're fairly standard car engines

We could do it too, using nuclear or hydro generated electricity . . . . if we wanted to go that direction - It's just not very practcial if you're burning fossil fuels to make the electricity to produce the hydrogen

These "water carburators" have been around since at least the 1930's or so. I have in my hands (as we speak) a "Vanderpoel Water Carburetor" from that (I believe) era that my father-in-law had (he was an early hot rodder, see Eugene von Arx in the book American Hot Rod).
