Last month I did the same, but it took me 2 trips, my trailer had not been registered in California since 1989, and the bill of sale was dated the same year. I thought it would be hell to get it registered, but after the first trip and then having to have my VIN verified , and a second trip to turn that paperwork in a grand total of 2 trips, $37.00 for registration and another $10.00 to my local PD to verify my VIN, all was good, I thought I would have to pay 20 years of back registration fees, and was really shocked that California did not nail me to the wall financially, being we are so strapped for cash in the state. maybe it was just good timing.
