Most miles driven in a day....

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

I used to do Amarillo Tx to Houston Tx once a month.625.8 miles door to door.My best time for that trip was 8 hours.40 min with one fuel/rest stop.I have done Amarillo Tx to Death Moans Io.but don't remember the miles.I was following my boss who got us lost in St Louis and wound up turning a C-90 72 tractor and 40 ft trailer around on a Bridge that just ended out over the river,I mean the road just stopped and there were barriers right there in the middle of the road on a bridge.

:o Hendersonville NC to Joplin MO in 16 hours. OMG  It was just too early to stop in Nashville or Kentucky and too close by the time I got tired... 807 miles. I dreamed driving for days after.

Las Vegas to Columbus Ohio. 2,000 miles in 48 hours. I did it solo. Man I was tired when I got there. Three days to get back.

Compared to most of you I'm a big baby. I drove to from Albuquerque NM to Las Vegas, NV. For some reason I took us 10 hours I think it's cause we went through Hover Dam. I drove the whole way cause we went in my car and I had a stick shift which no one else knew how to drive.

Early 70's drove solo 2200 miles from Sherman Oaks (Los Angeles) to Atlanta. Left late Friday afternoon in rush hour traffic. Made it home in time for work 8:00am Monday morning...body definitely running on fumes. Caught a Linda Ronstadt concert in Amarillo on Saturday night. Turbocharged Chevy Corvair.

Several trips from Manchester, Ia to Zapata, Tx 1385 miles. Would usually stop and take about an hour nap. 21 to 22 hrs driving time.
Trips to Yankeetown, Fl 1265 miles always drove straight thru. No land speed records but once 18 1/2 hours for my dad's open heart surgery.
In recent years, many trips to Durant, Ok 800 miles. Consistant 12 1/2 hours. Although since I have the teardrop it now takes me three days

With the teardrop, sharing driving with my wife
1730 miles from Lake Worth, FL to Minden. Then after a two day stay we did another 1100 miles non-stop to Greenleaf, ID.
We don't like to travel that way, just a set of bad circumstances and it was the only way we could do International.
