I got this Acer Aspire One the other day at Costco. It costs less than the EEE PC did when I bought it, and it specs out better. I love it. I bought one in the metallic blue as shown in the pictures. The only problem with this is it picks up finger oil too easily.

They make a 6-cell battery for the unit which will extend battery life to 7 hours.

Since I am a Windows loather, I wiped out Windows XP and installed Ubuntu 8.10 Linux on the machine. I had to do two very simple package updates, and the entire machine was running fine.

The keyboard is slightly larger than the one on the EEE PC, so it is easier to use. The touchpad is sucky, as usual, so I use a Logitech Nano VX wireless laser mouse.

I bought this machine as a Christmas present, but I'm keeping it for myself. That's how much I like it.
