I have a 2000 and 2009 jetta tdi (diesel) was wandering if anyone else was using this type of car to pull with. If so any good tips? Also how does it effect the handling of the car and braking power?

Ive not got a jetta, but our lass has a Skoda Fabia 1.9 tdi, (vw own skoda) and the engines are the same. I have no problem pulling a 12 foot long touring caravan , loaded for a fortnight camping with it, and im sure there must be over a ton there. I would opt for a braked axle though if youre td weighs in at over 750 kg

I've towed a T@B (approx 1500#) with a Passat TDI (same size engine I think)

It was an easy tow...

So I'm curious, what kind of milage are you getting while towing. The VW tdi is on my short list. I was planning on going for a test drive this next week.
