Buying a king size bed tomorrow

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Postby Fenlason » Wed Nov 26, 2008 6:06 am

We have the tempur -pedic.. and love it. I forget how long we have had it but it has been quite a few years now. Back when we bought it, there were not that many places that sold them.

We wrestled between one of the newer pillow top air beds, and this one. The owner of the store, someone I knew outside the store, was going through the same process. [I think he went with the air bed... which his wife was favoring]

The first night or two.. it feels quite firm. Our was cold. It takes time to warm up, and maybe break in a little.

Our bed is now always better than any hotel bed we have been on.

I got mine from Costco. I ordered it for delivery, not off the floor. They showed up, I had the frame in place, they set it up in 5 minutes.
I miss my old water bed when it is cold. I loved crawling when it was nice and warm. It died and new ones were too expensive so I went to Costco.

We bought the tempur-pedic a little over a year ago. We love it. We also bought the electric frame with head and leg adjustments. Little did I know that "magic fingers" were also included. I have spent many waking hours as well in the bed (medical reasons ). I have seen chiropractors often for back aches. Since buying this, I have had much relief from the back aches. No I don't sell them and there's no rotation involved. Twenty year warranty and a thousand dollars cheaper than "select comfort".
I have wisdom beyond my years. In fact, I'm nearly senile.

Wow. We've had a hard-sided, queen-sized waterbed for the last 20+ years. Its so old that the padding on the sides needs to be replaced! We've replaced the actual plastic mattress twice in that time, so we're on our third one. The last time we replaced it (2 years ago?), I believe it was only about $120 or so. We've had to replace the heater once in the last 20 years and have only had to physically move the placement of the bed three times - fortunately!

I guess we've been lucky with ours. The last time we had to replace it, my husband refused to even consider changing to something different. Ah, well. I think he likes the heated bed in the winter. I know that our cat does!
