Can you believe it? We got 4-5 inches of snow in Port Barre LA!

its snowed from 3 am till about 8 am and now its more sleet than snow.

gracie experienced snow for the first time! she had a blast but got soaking wet! she loves chasing snowballs

ironically i bought fake snowmen for my xmas decorations but they got some real snow...

anyone else from louisiana got some snow pics?

Anna, y'all were lucky(I guess)...we only got about and inch of slushy sleet...YUCK...melting fast now and it just wasn't pretty enough for a pic...many of y'all might not think this is very much but it is a once inna 10 yr deal for us...hope the rest of the winter doesn't play out like this.........

thanks mj... i was so excited when i saw it snowing! like you said we don't get it very much last time i saw snow around here was 5-6 years ago and it wasn't much. gracie had a blast playing in it (so did i)! too bad ya'll didn't get more than slushy sleet. i'll throw a snowball for you.

don't worry MK i'm staying right here! my power was off from 5:30 until about 8:30 so i wasn't going to try to take a shower in the dark. plus one of my coworkers called and said I-49 South was closed due to multiple accidents. and i have a friend that said it took him an hour to go 10 miles and since i have a 35 mile drive to work i don't think i would get there on time. so i'm staying warm and toasty on my couch with my doggies.

We got a couple of inches this morning between 4:30 - 6:00 but the rain thereafter melted it away.

I'm at work but if I were at home a big pot of gumbo would be on the stove!

no she's right... it did snow in new orleans also. i have two brothers who live there and have already seen their pictures of snowmen. we are all like big kids when it comes to snow since we don't see it often. i can't believe there is still snow on the ground at 1:00 pm. in fact i just got back in from making some more snowmen and throwing snowballs at gracie who would try to catch them in her mouth.

the only thing that would be better was if eddie was here to share in the fun.

My sister-in-law lives in Baton Rouge and I called her at 7:30 a.m. (Central time) and woke her up to tell her to go look outside. She didn't even know it was snowing...I was watching the news here in Florida. My mom and sister live about 30 miles South of Baton Rouge and they got a lot of snow too...well, alot by their standards. They just loved it.
