Rip fence...

Postby Shrug53 » Tue Sep 06, 2005 1:09 pm

I have an older Ohio Forge 10" table saw that i was given. There is no rip fence. does anyone know if there is a universal one? Or failing that, is there a way to make my own?

Thanks!

Hey Shrug!

There are universal replacement rip fences (Biesmeyer, Unifence, Osborne, Incra, Jet, etc.) most are expensive and designed for high accuracy and production work.

You may want to check the likes of Sears Craftsman or Grizzly Industrial for more reasonable options.

In a pinch: you can C clamp a good straight board to both the infeed & outfeed side of the saw; just make sure you maintain a equal distance from the blade to the fence (parallel) or you will experience pinching, binding, kickbacks, etc.

Cheers,

Coop
