scavenger hunt

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

scavenger hunt

Postby Aaron Coffee » Sun May 24, 2009 12:51 pm

I am composing a list of things for a scavenger hunt at Pioneer village for my nephew (6 years old)to find during ITG3. Hopefully I can get him interested in the museum more so I don't have to listen to "When does the mini golf open" all day. I am looking for suggestions from the obvious(airplane) to the little things that might be easily missed(pen)to the downright tricky(school bus, they have a horse drawn school bus). Here is my list so far.
Firetruck
School Bus
motorcycle
picture of a president(his idea)
pen
button(pinback, push button...)
telephone
ice cream cone
picture of mars(his idea)
washing machine
refridgerator
tractor
dinosaur/fossil(his idea)
typewriter

Any one have ideas for more?
Thanks
Aaron

There is also a number of snowmobiles in there, vintage stoves, a boat or 2 airplane engines, all sorts of farm impliments etc.... Just about anything you can think of. Good idea to keep him busy with that. Doug

Get him a cheap digital camera so he can take a picture of the items as he finds them.

What I did when I was little was see how many different states license plates I could find.
Take him snipe hunting.
snakeskin
animal tracks
a left handed smoke shifter
a teepee
Class A , B, and/or C Motorhomes
FirstAid kIT
payphone
A&W restaurant
A Drive through Fast Food Restaurant (not a sonic)

When we went to ITG1 I had my kids find the prototype and early improvements to the vise grip. Rather difficult but it's there. Also they found a car with a boat prop which was a lot easier. There is a motor home with a brick fireplace that's kind of fun. Also a treadmill washing machine run by a dog.

Have fun looking.
