Monarch butterfly migration!

Postby WarPony » Tue Sep 20, 2005 10:47 pm

Fall is soon coming to Kansas. The Turkey Vultures are gathering to head to warmer climates and the Monarch Butterflies are also doing the same. I've seen hundreds of Monarchs gliding Southerly towards their final destination........... probably to Kai and Lois' casa for some party wine  !!

Check out www.monarchwatch.org if you are interested.

I'm an Indian and I watch the animals for changes. Hell, they don't have calenders, just a feel for what is right.....

We go to two spots to see them roost, one is Pismo Beach and the other is Leo Carrillo campground in Malibu both excellent camping opportunities, late November or early December there will thousands in large groups. There is also a tagging program that tracks them on the migrations very interesting.
