that is cool.

My dentist has something quite similar. For making crowns.. he has a pen sized lazer that he measures your tooth. Then the info is sent into another room where he has this small milling machine.. and your crown is milled right there while you wait, out of ceramic. This way they don't have to make a temporary. No going back. it is all done right there at the one visit.

That was cool also :D

WOW! Star Trek visions come to life.

The scanner is $2,995 (WWW.nextengine.com)
The desktop version of the printer is $14,900 (www.dimensionprinting.com)
The large version of the printer they had in the garage is $29,900

I know what is on my tool list for when I win the lottery! I thought laser engravers were cool--this technology beats that to pieces.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Looking at their website, some of the software comes with it. then the upgraded software looks to be $1-4000, depending on what you need.

Just wait--by next year they will be selling a version through Sears and Wal-Mart for $395.00 that will build up the parts with welding wire instead of ABS! :lol:

jay leno has one in his garage that can duplicate a cone (crescent) wrench right down to the thumb wheel, that actually works. (in plastic)
