A New Start?

Postby pete.wilson » Sat Aug 01, 2009 2:30 pm

Hey

As many of you know; I have been laid off from Garmin since the beginning of March 2009. Well, I have finally been offered a new job (Avionics Spervisor/Lead) with L-3 Communications/Flight International Inc. in Newport News, VA and will be moving there this coming week. We had to file for banruptcy here in Kansas which we really hated to do, but it allows for us to accept jobs elsewhere since nothing was panning out here and I had only a month and a half of unemployment left before benefits ran out. I will be back on when we get internet service. :worship:

Why hasn't anyone found a dead bigfoot? When was the last time you found a dead deer, bear, coyote, fox, squirrel, etc. that died in the woods.........Hmmm.

Good luck Pete,

...and watch out for Bigfoot. I hear he hangs out in Newport News, VA quite a bit. I almost ended up in Newport News myself!!!

Pete,

You found a job...life is good, and though hard times aren't over, you're going to make it!

Newport News

Postby Alfred » Sat Aug 01, 2009 6:07 pm

I've heard Newport News is a nice place to live. Lot of good Navy folks there. Not a bad place to land, hope it is the start of something new and good!

Pete-

You are going to really like Newport News. Nice place and enjoy the area. I was working there many years ago - you all should have a great time.

Enjoy.

Once you get there, you have 2 choices (No, not the red pill or the blue pill. lol!) You can either click you heels together 3 times and say "there's no place like home" :worship: , or say "I don't think we're in Kansas any more" 8) .
Anyway, enjoy your new life.  :applause: :applause:

Image Newport New can be great. Research your schools and neighborhoods. My Niece lived near the water and had wonderful neighbors.

We have a member who lives in that area but I haven't seen them on for a while.

Good luck!

Good luck Pete, finding a new job can be exciting, and I hope all goes well. As soon as the money starts rolling in again, things will start looking up, wait and see. Life can be full of 'new starts' and it looks like you are on the right track to being happy again. Good luck, and keep us informed how you are doing in the new home.
