Exploding Pyrex -- anyone have it happen to them?

I wonder if we can order Pyrex from a scientific lab supply company... how do you specify a 9" pie plate in scientific-eze?

It happened at home

CD, yes it DID happen to our family. My mom was cooking acorn squash in a Pyrex square dish and when she opened the oven to check on it and stir the inner part (butter & brown sugar) it exploded in the oven. Luckily no glass hit her or me. Leaves you kind of shaky after it happens, though.

Last winter I replaced the glass in my wood burning stove.when trying to find the glass I found out that there is only 2 places in the states that make fireproof glass.I just thought it was kinda weird.
