From the People's Republic of Portland, a Craigslist scam that seems to have been caught before it got too far.

Good job on the bank keeping tabs...

Hard to believe after all the "scam" publicity that people are still quite happy to wire thousands of dollars to "an account" without ever seeing in person the merchandise, or seller?

Seem like if a person "has" thousands of dollars to spend, unless someone just gave it to them, that they were smart enough to earn and save it...

Some folks must be really gullible.

CL has in GIANT letters:

[ OFFERS TO SHIP CARS ARE 100% FRAUDULENT ]

How anybody would believe it otherwise is beyond me. And, if you click it, CL tells you:

# AVOID DEALS INVOLVING SHIPPING OR ESCROW SERVICES and know that ONLY A SCAMMER WILL "GUARANTEE" YOUR TRANSACTION.

Heck, I can spot one of those a mile away:

1. Too low of a price for a decent car
2. Same ad on multiple CL's.
