Just thought Id share some music with info from Germany and Finland.

We were at a concert awhile ago listening to this new band from Germany.
50,s style rocknroll, and they were energetic and darn good.

Lynard Skynard came to Boone, NC last year. You know there is only one original band member still living. They are just not the same.

Anyways, I do hope you enjoy Skynard. I donated a lot of money to those guys over the years.

Give Me Three Steps and Free Bird...my favorite tunes by them.

Hi Steve

Yes its sad that only one of the original members are alive. Got to go to it just to see tha last member while he,s still here. Could be that last time around in this part of the world who,s to say. They were my favorite during the early days of me youth and still are to some extent. Great songs to remember them by ;)

Classic Finn,

I know what you mean when you say they were a part of your youth. Robert, a life long friend and I drank a lot of beer and shot a lot of pool to their music back when we were young and crazy. Old Robert came up to see Skynard with me last year. He was going to start camping with me again like we did in the old days. Robert died this summer. He is sadly missed. :(

Enjoy Skynard for all us old guys.

Kinda late gettin' in on this......but I use to see LS at a club in Atlanta back in the early 70's. It was called Funicio's (Spelling may be wrong) Anyway, it was a great club right on Peachtree. I use to see a lot of Atlanta bands there. Kudzu, Eric Quincy Tate, Brother Bate and others..... I use to see Mothers Finest at the Electric Eye.

Southern rock was big back then and I still love it, whether it's Marshall Tucker, ABB, Outlaws whoever. :applause:  :applause:

Now......I keep checking out who's going to be at the Variety Playhouse in Little Five Points. I saw Robin Trower a month ago. Which reminds me of a story.....

My brother & I went to see Trower and we're walking around Little Five Points and for those of you who don't know, it's kinda New Bohemian area, hippie dippie kinda place, think Haight -Asbury but 2009. Anyway, we're walking along and I see this old fella (hell I'm 55!) with some sort of weird Spanish, psuedo communist writing on his shirt (hammer & sickle) and as he walks by, he says just loud enough for us to hear, "There goes a couple of F^%$#@! rednecks looking around Little Five Points."

I turned to my brother and said, "Dang, did you hear that fella?" He said he heard something but didn't know what the feller said. We were kinda ticked off :x but said to hell with him. We just figured the guiy was an idiot who didn't like cowboy boots and flannel shirts down in his neck of the woods. (Part of the city)

So we went and ate wings and had a few beers at the Euclid Yacht Club and then went to a killer Robin Trower show. He hasn't lost anything.

I keep hopin' ol Alvin Lee will book there but he hasn't yet.

The Dickie Betts Band two years ago was incredible. They were killer. Dickies guitar playing hasn't lost a thing. It's fun to see those old has-been bands. Mountain last year was okay...it could've been better. Asleep at The Wheel was damn good too.

Anyway, I don't go to concerts much anymore, :( maybe one a year at best. 8)
I poked it with a stick..........

Thanks for chiming in. Its great to hear from you and the mention of Marshall Tucker and many more names that are familiar to me.  Asleep at the Wheel is a great one as well.
I love bluegrass, country, The Blues and Suthern Rocknroll.

Ohh just to let you know, I wear cowboy boots (Texas Made) almost everyday. With them thar flannel shirts too. Its one of my styles I reckon.  Not to mention a few Resistol and Stetson hangin on my wall. Nothing under 5X. Im yet dreamin of the 25x one day. Black Gold, Resistol or Stetson with Rancher Crown. :D Ive been called a Finnish Redneck more than a few times.
