New Use For An Old Part

Postby halfdome, Danny » Thu Dec 24, 2009 12:49 pm

I replaced the trunk emblem/handle on my 55 Chevy today and was looking around my shop for a place to hang the old but still nice old part. Being a Cabinetmaker I need to keep the dust out of my shop stereo so I made a cabinet with a filter years ago but never put a handle on the door. This makes a perfect handle, don't you think? Think of the possibilities of all the doors in your shop with these as handles. Danny Image

That looks good!

I had a similar idea when I ran across this old Hurst T shifter in one of my "junk" boxes. It was once on a 64 Chevy step side which is one vehicle I wish I had never sold. Now I'm reminded of that truck every time I reach for a beer out in the garage. Yes, I think I can shift that fridge door from closed to open a little quicker with the Hurst mod.....

Hey Danny,

How would that look as a door or hatch handle on the teardrop. Iwould say you could use as a cabinet handle in the teatr but then you would have to go find a bunch more to keep the theme going

I thought of the hatch handle thing but didn't want to give the impression I was somehow making a Chevy teardrop.
They are easy to find since almost every part of Tri-Five (55,56,57)Chevy's are reproduced, more than any car ever made. :D Danny
