This is one of those :o moments.

I'm guessing they'll want to review the labels on those things in the future...

That sounds like something I'd do.

That is so sad. :( Those big cans of bear spray look like small extinguishers so I could have made the same mistake as she did.

Sad is that a fire usually causes folks to respond with great hurry....No time to think.

peper spray

Postby mvperini » Thu Jan 28, 2010 10:37 pm

the man set himself on fire with gasoline and then tried to enter a store that sells furs downtown portland. The store has been the site of many demonstrations before, the only reason he did not get inside the store is because the front door is always locked and you have to be let in. It is a sad day when somebody will go this far in the name of animal rights.

What a bizarre situation. I find it hard to feel bad for the guy as he started the fire himself. I do feel bad for the officer, tho.

This is a sick thread. I don't care if he did set himself on fire. What a terrible event. I don't see any humor in it, and I feel bad for the officer who tried to save him, and the obviously mentally ill person who set himself on fire.

It isn't about animal rights, and it isn't a case of "ooops," -- it is a horrible thing, and that's that. Nuff said, as I've heard here before.
