post a picture of your cat

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Postby SSchumacherCO » Mon Apr 13, 2009 11:29 pm

D.J. the picture of your cat Samantha looks exactly like my cat Samantha. Same green eyes and everything. I meant to post a picture when I first saw this thread. Sadly my Samantha died last month. She was 20 years old. She was unquestionably the best cat I have ever known. I got her because I wanted a dog but was living in a condo at the time. It was a grand experiment because if she didn't work out she was too big to flush. After all it was a cat not an alligator. Turns out we learned to communicate at a level previously experienced only with dogs. She not only charmed my heart but several hardened cat haters as well. Seeing your Samantha brings a tear and a smile as I think of the past 20 years with my Samantha.

Here's my boy Dewey, a very sick stray that showed up on my back porch step one day. With the help of my vet we were able to save him.

Image

You've heard some say, "My pet adopted me",,,, well, that was the case with lil' Dew. As soon as he had the strength to climb, it was up my pants leg he went, riding around on my shoulder as I worked in the yard and shop. Decided he'd move into the house too! I couldn't imagine having a more loving pet or a more entertaining pal, he's one very special boy. Oh,, and he still demands his shoulder rides!

If he's not snoozin' on my lap, one of his favorite spots is on top of the computer monitor.

Image

Most photogenic cat ever I might add,,,, hehehehe!

Yes it is a sad picture. Sometimes I think sick jokes are how we sorta deal with sad things.

This is a youtube link to a favorite song of mine. It is done by a barber shop group. The song was written by Eric Bogle from Austrailia. It has some very good advice for people who love their kitties.

I have her trained to not chase her ball if it goes into the street. But if she sees a cat she is GONE. It's like she has after burners or something. It happens very fast.

I'm enjoying the pictures, Y'all keep posting.

This is my cat Tika. Tika was given to me by a friend's partner who had three cats. Chico (not shown) came from my friend who had two. I took one of each. Both died in 2008.

I'd love to have another cat, but my beagle Gordon is not good with cats. He wouldn't hurt a cat, but he likes to play with cats the way he plays with dogs and they don't like it. Chico and Tika were used to dogs and gave him a few smacks on the snout to keep him in line.

were about to lose the first of our cats. She has been with us for 17 great years, longer than weve been married. going to be hard to take her in.. She is growing weaker every day. she still eats good, drinks water and wants her loving and loves back, curled up by my feet as we type. Reality is she doesnt have a week left in her. Her balance is a bit goofy I noticed today.. gonna be a bad week...... :(

My elderly neighbor told me about a stray she took in while living in Santa Fe. It was a skinny thing when she spotted it in the yard. So she fattened the little guy up, then made an appiontment to have him "fixed". The vet goes "KAY!! It's a bobcat!!!

They didn't fix him. And she had the cat for about two years before he just didn't come home one day.
