Black Friday

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Black Friday

I don't know if there are any early bird shoppers here but if you are, here's a good website that shows a lot of the earlybird specials at different stores. It has a search function too. http://bfads.net/

I go out every year and fight some of the crowds if they're not too bad. I carry a list of options and if the store looks too crowded I move on to another. I'm usually home by 10AM with an armload of goodies.

Anyway, I noticed in Sear's flyer that they have a stainless 4.4 cu ft refrigerator for $149 Friday morning. If anyone is thinking of putting a fridge in their trailer that's not a bad deal. They're regular price is $299.

I'm making my list and setting my alarm. I know....I need to get a life :?

By the way, does anyone know why they call it Black Friday?

The origin of the moniker stretches back to the Great Depression, according to many accounts. The day after Thanksgiving has long been a busy day when retailers who struggled all year would see their balances move from "the red" into the black.

Lot of other Black Fridays in history but this is the reason for the one this time every year..

For anyone looking for clamps, Sears has some nice one handed bar clamps on sale tomorrow morning 6am - 11am only, for $11.99, which is $8 off the regular price. I have 6 of these so far, and will probably get a couple more :D I like them a lot more than the Irwins that I have, they have a stronger grip, and the bar faces downward when used, instead of up like the Irwins.
Here's a link, it shows the clamp, but not the Black Friday price:

They also have a deal on a pair of 10" carbide saw blades for $9.99, regular price of $19.99. I think the 40 tooth is the same as the one I have on my table saw, and if so, it is a great general purpose blade for the money.

Here's a link, it shows the blades, but not the Black Friday price:
