With my last truck (Mazda Ranger) I'd get 24 in the Summer and 20 in the Winter, that was both in NC and TX. My current truck (Toyota Tundra) I get 18 in the Summer and 16 in the Winter, in TX and CO.

There're many kits available.

Ah, but turbos have their weaknesses, too. I have a twin turbo V6 with two intercoolers. When it is 100-plus degrees in July, my car is a bit on the sluggish side, due to "heat soak" of the intercoolers.

Now, when it's 25 degrees in January, my engine really comes alive. I'd guess there is a good 20 HP difference between a 25 degree day and a 100 degree day.

But I do agree that a turbo or supercharger kit can make a huge difference.

I'm going to get a Titan for my TV and I would love to put one on that. I've read several articles where car makers are going to be putting turbo kits on many of their new cars in order to increase fuel economy.

Yes, ford and GM are both introducing new models with smaller engines boosted with low pressure turbos. The Chevy Cruze, which will replace the Cobalt, will have an optional 1.4 liter turbo that is good for 40 MPG HWY.

Ford is promoting their "ecoboost" engines that are smaller, but feel like larger engines and get better HWY mileage.

You're sitting in too much traffic, and you don't have the super-do0per nirrous oxide charge cooler cooling mod??? Get with the program! sir...

Happiness is nitrous oxide sprayed onto the surface of the charge cooler resulting in near-freezing charge cooler interior temps and that wintry-day performance we all like so much!

Just for the records...

My car continued to sputter even after running two tanks of BP, so I went to the Subaru shop.

The plug wires were breaking down, so I got new plugs and wires. I am happy to report that it runs much better now. I may even try some more of that good ol' cheap Walmart gas..

perhaps that is what caused your plug wires to go bad... :R :R
