...you're more than 600 miles closer than D.C. is tho... and some of them seem to be sitting on their stilts :o ...

Since I'm 2,000 miles farther than you from the marshes, in my book that makes you a local even if you don't live right on the coast. I guess some things are a matter of perspective. ;)

...the worst case scenario may be starting to play out in regard to capturing the oil flow...if any of you have followed the various links and sources that have been talked about in this thread, the worst case is for the well casing to "fall over" due to the erosion of the walls of the well bore...the Blow Out Preventer(BOP), which is what the ships capturing the out flow are connected to has started to lean...this indicates, the pipe in the well bore no longer is being sufficiently supported by the bore hole and can result in the collapse of the entire BOP and related piping...if this occurs, there will be no way to capture the free flowing oil and additionally, the entire area could become a huge sinkhole with a couple of consequences...1) it could actually cut off the flow if enough material falls into the hole to offset the pressure of the oil pool OR 2) it could release a massive outflow which could reach over 150,000 barrels a day(42gallons to the barrel)...keep your fingers crossed and pray #2 doesn't happen...........

Will do. :worship: We need an end to the disaster, not a bigger one. :(

Yeah, I was just thinking that neither of us live "on" the coast -- anymore. I'm 250 miles inland.

I spent eight years in Port Arthur, and my family members all live in Houston.

Ah, yes, beautiful Port Arthur, Texas.
