Can anyone tell me what www.teardrops.us is all about? I've tried more times than I can remember to get into the site. I've registared and gotten a notification via e-mail to go to a site and when I get there I get a message saying my user name isn't recognized. I registar a name again and it's the same endless circle. What the heck am I doing wrong? And is it even worth getting on anyway?
Chris :D

The tension between what is good enough and what is beyond that creates the space for character to become our work.

Oh sure...

BG offered teardrops.us as a free service to us as a place to host our photos.

A lot of people like it because you can paste the links in the messages here, and have the photos show up, much like what you do when you use your personal album here.

Sometimes there is a glich with the login on BG's site. When that happens, just send BG a private message, and he'll get you all squared away.

Like Mike said, it's a place to host pictures. When you post a pic or a link to one on a forum, you need to store it somewhere. Most people here post to their personal gallery, but that only works for this forum while signed in. If you need to post a pic on another website (your own or any other) teardrops.us will work. Others store pictures on Yahoo photos but Yahoo doesn't allow direct linking (for websites).

Think of it as remote storage. Once uploaded there, you can access it from any computer hooked to the internet. Any website can also access the pictuers also with the correct address.

Like Rocky says, you must be logged on here to view pics that are posted in a message, which are stored in our albums here... Guests can not see them.
When you use bg's site and post a pic in your message, everyone can see it... even those not logged on.

Chris, you must be doing something wrong. I just went in and loged in with no problem. Are you using the you correct password? That's the only thing I can think of or maybe by chance to used a different user name than you normally use. Just stabing.

Have a good day.

BG offered teardrops.us as a free service and that is very generous. I don't know the details but if he is paying out of his own pocket to keep that space available, should we have a fund raiser to help share the financial burden?

Maybe it isn't necessary. It was just a thought.

I saw in another thread (http://www.mikenchell.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=71600&highlight=#71600) that BG was thinking of charging $5 a year for the site. I would pay that for the convenince of having a place to post pictures. I'm not sure what the status is though.

BG, let us know.

Scott F.
Are we there yet?

Yep I sent him a $5 spot via paypal. If you look at other palces to host pics, $5 is a great bargain.

I saw these two posts and figured I should quote both in reponse.

My current costs come to about $200/a year, and we don't even come close to using up all I'm paying for. According to the Jan stats(which i find hard to believe are correct), I'm using about 2% of what I pay for. That's including the Pamplin Grove Website and my personal picture gallery.

Unfortunately, I'm unemployed yet again, and nothing is looking terribly positive yet. If you guys want to helpout, I can setup an email account from the teardrops.us domain or a subdomain off of the teardrops.us site for you to build a website on. Or you can just know that you helped out.
