I bought an Apple Ipod

Postby Forrest747 » Fri Dec 23, 2011 8:09 pm

Well it goes without saying I have fought the good fight, yet alas I have given in and gotten an Ipod Touch.

It is actually quite neat I will admit. I still am trying to figure it out and such but so far I like what I see. Being a novice at Apple products I also ordered a mini dock. THinking it was just a smaller version of the dock. Nope its for the mini Ipod. Didnt know they had a mini Ipod. While the connector is the same the well the ipod sits in is smaller than the touch profile. well since its for the garage anyway i broke out the dremel and made the well a little bit bigger.

The complaint i still have there is not much support behind it for when i touch the screen to change songs or to pause. i guess there is some more modifications in the future.

Welcome to the addictive world of Ipod. I have a Nano (for walking around), Classic (for my entire music collection) and an Itouch. Get a copy of Itouch for Dummies it helped me a WHOLE BUNCH because I am not the brightest person when it comes to techy stuff. The apps are a whole bunch of fun.

I have the IPOD touch 32g, great little tool, fast internet, thousands of apps, use it all the time for mail, music, and this site.

I hope your happier than I was. I bought one last month and returned it a couples days later. I hated it!! As a gadget to play with, it's fun, but, it wears off quickly. As a music player it sucks!!! Everything you do must be done in I-Tunes with a credit card account requirement. I have a 600 CD collection. I-tunes could only find album art for a few of my collection (major deal breaker). WMP found 95% of them.

Using the best quality bit rate, the sound from this player is the worst I have heard from any MP3 player I have owned. I have a couple of Creative brand MP3 players that are so much better than the I-Pod Touch.

No thanks...Apple, you can sucker the masses, but I demand a lot more for listening to music. If you want an overpriced mini computer, and don't care about being locked into Apple's crappy I-Tunes, and most of all, quality sound doesn't matter to you, you may be perfectly happy! I'am sticking with Windows Media Player, and my 3 year old Creative Zen MP3 player.

Good Luck,

Yes some docking stations do have the inserts. This one did not have that option. Was looking at and planning a dock support out of some of the scraps I have. I do hate apple and have for decades. That stupid apple would. Give me back my floppy I do like how its a mini ipad and it does have way more apps than for my crackberry. On a side note my blackberry crashed yesterday for six hours no communication texts or teardrop forums. Well had to upgrade the software and now my phone is acting like it has a touch screen which it doesn't. I find myself swiping the screen to move it. I love the physical keyboard. I tried syncing photos and it didn't work on the ipod. I much perfer the wmp over itunes however I love all the apps. Now if I can just duct tape the 2 units I would be good
