It's Really Quite Simple

Postby Tumbleweed_Tex » Wed Dec 21, 2011 8:07 am

With this post, me and Dog do not intend to offend anyone, or force our beliefs or opinions into anyone’s life. This is merely the way we feel, and just because we know certain things to be undeniably true, doesn’t mean you have to.

Much like the angel who appeared to the shepherds some 2000 years ago, we offer you good tidings of great joy this Christmas Season. It is our hope, as you and yours celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, that you will sing like the angels, rejoice like the shepherds, and worship like the wise men.

True happiness comes when we discover the real meaning of this birthday celebration, and we feel that Christmas is not necessarily a time nor a season, but rather a state of mind. It is an attitude of giving & sharing…a demonstration of loving & forgiving…an emulation of the life and ministry of the Son of God.

Simply put, the true spirit of Christmas is living the very words of Jesus Christ Himself:

“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.â€

I wrote this a number of years ago and while I would wish you all Merry Christmas I would also wish that you be mindful of the evil we see displayed particularly in our capitols, state and national, and in the halls of power.
We have all heard the Christmas story from the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. However, there is a less-told story in Revelation that parallels the traditional story.
Revelation does not mention shepherds, nor does it mention the murderous king Herod. Instead, there is a great red dragon (Satan) that leads a vicious struggle against heaven. On earth a baby is born, and the dragon waits to devour him. At the last moment the baby is saved and the mother flees with him into the desert.
We live on a single plane of existence, but it is not the only one. There is ours, a world of great experiences, but there is also one beyond our understanding, a world of angels and demons, of good and evil. This world is known as Heaven and Hell. God became a baby, a mortal human. The choir of angels sang not only to the shepherds, but also to the entire universe. This world is still a battleground. The red dragon would prefer that you do not know that there are absolutes, definite good and evil.

One need only to look around at the world today to see that evil is very, very real! Thank you for your post!

Good post Shadowcatcher. But the beauty of Christmas is that because of the gift of Christ, though the battle still rages temporarily, we can take heart in knowing that it is ALREADY WON!!!

There are times that I would wish to be a spinner of words; yet there are times that I am glad that I am not. Tex, You make my soul leap at the name of our Lord, the sacrifice, and the great gift that this season represents for we who are in this realm. We so yearn to be with the creator and the Son, and I for one, will accept the seat beside my Savior

MERRY CHRISTMAS one and all!
