Need music help---- CD tracks to my phone.

Postby Woodstramp » Fri Jan 06, 2012 10:03 pm

I have a bunch of music CDs. I have a dandy Android phone that is capable of playing music like a MP3 type player. I installed a 4GB SD card on the phone, so I should be able to put every song I own on this phone.

I'm not real familiar with doing this kind of thing.....hope someone here can suggest a good (free) software that can copy a song file from a CD and shoot it to a phone or MP3 player. Thanks.

You probably already have everything that you need. If you're using windows, windows media player can rip your cd's to MP3 files, then you simply copy them to the SD card. I'm not familiar with the process for Mac's but I would assume that it is very similar. Searching for "ripping cds" should give you all the instructions that you need.

The easiest way is to use Media Player, which is already on your computer, to rip the CD tracks to mp3 files. Then moving them to your phone is just a drag and drop operation.

Thanks guys. I was trying this with Windows Media Player, but the key I was missing was "rip" and the settings. Already have the Eagles Hotel California in the Android as I'm replying. :)

This will be great. I intend to install a car audio system in my TTT. One of those with a USB and audio jack inputs. That way, I'll have all my music on the phone.....just audio plug it into the TTT's sound system.....instant favorite tunes in the camper.

Just think....when I first bought that Eagles album......it was for my 8 track. I love the new gizmos.

I be jammin'...... 8)

Or, you could get an app called Mspot (it's free) and upload your songs to their cloud, and have them on your phone that way. Same thing is available with Amazon's cloud app for music. Downside is that you would need cell service to always access the music, but it won't take up any space on your SD card.

Susann,

Never heard of that but I'll check out the cloud thing.

One thing I don't have to worry about is the SD card though. I only take a few pics or videos before transferring them to the computer. Those use the most space on the card.
