Why The Freeze Up?

Postby rebapuck » Wed Feb 15, 2012 4:13 pm

Can anyone suggest a cure for a computer that freezes up when attempting to get on a website. Only the one website causes a problem. Otherwise, things are as usual.

Could be a lot things that make it freeze up - out of date browser, out of date website, missing plug in's, Java not installed, etc. What's the website?

www.fullmoonbusclub.com

I've emailed other members, but no one else has a problem.

I'd definitely update your browser and Java first, then see what you've got.

I updated to IE8, but it didn't help. I downloaded Firefox and can access the site through that. Do I have to switch between IE and FF by closing down one and opening the other?

If You use firefox make sure you have Noscript and add block plus, also update your antivirus and firewall, there is a lot of hijacked websites around that will inject malware in your machine, somehow some of them are blocked by IE, but not all, Firefox with those add ons will keep you safe.
This is my build thread...
