Looking for a great present for a youngin'? Check out this combination digital camera and digital VIDEO camera for around $70 (Wal-Mart.)

Today my younger boy turns 10, and this is one of his last-minute gifts. (We spoil the crap out of him, because he's such a good kid and NOT spoiled.)

Heck, I want one of these for MYSELF.

It takes standard SD memory cards, 1.3 megapixel for stills (which is fine for web), a small but very useable video screen size, and you can also plug it right into your TV for viewing.

For 70 bucks?

Plus, the instructions are written for kids, so it's perfect for our TD builders who are photographically challenged.

I just purchased a similar device from NewEgg for the kid in my house (ME).

It has the same functions, but different specs. It is a 5 megapixel camera with a 640 x 320, 30fps video capability. Takes regular SD cards.

It's a Canon A610, and it cost me $212. I got it as a replacement for my aging Canon A20.

my 11 year old has one of the target 5 megapixel ones (christmas) It's great and he can work it all - also has a built in MP3 player.

The Hasbro unit looks more like a toy (intended to be kid friendly), but I'm sure your little guy will have fun with it!

That Target one looks really cool.

I was just amazed how the price has come down on this stuff.
